Profile: Dr. Karma Sonam Palmo holds a Ph.D. from the University of Tasmania (School of Humanities: Asian Philosophy & Gender Studies), Australia. She works as a Research Assistant in the Dictionary Department of Research Section. She is currently working on a Tri-Lingual Abhidharma Thematic Dictionary (Tibetan-Sanskrit-English). Besides working on her main dictionary project, she teaches English in the Dept. of Classical and Modern Languages, Faculty of Shabda Vidya. She has taught courses on Buddhist Philosophy (Abhidharma); Gender and Buddhism; and Women in Buddhism as a Visiting Faculty in Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Sikkim, India and Smith College, MA, USA. Her research interests are Abhidharma 1990 में जोड़ा गया। Yogacara Buddhist Philosophies; Women in Buddhism; Buddhism and Gender; and Buddhist Narrative & Hagiographic Literature.

Dr. Ramesh Chandra Negi holds a PhD Degree from CIHTS, Sarnath, Varanasi. Currently, he is Associate Professor in Department of Sampradaya Shastra (Kargyud) under the Faculty of Hetu Evam Adhyatma Vidya and as an additional duty he is the Chief Editor (Prof.) of Dictionary Department. At present, along with teaching work of Kargyud Sampradaya Shastra, he is engaged in editing and translating works of texts of Dictionary Department and Kargyud Sampradaya.
Teaching Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy, Restoration, Translation, Editing and Vipassana Meditation are the fields of his specialization.
He has 32 books published, 14 books in progress of publication and about 90 other publications such as research papers and translated texts.

Saurabh Dubey is pursuing Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.) and teaches Economics at the Faculty of Adhunik Vidya, Department of Social Science. His responsibilities as a teacher revolve around a curriculum that includes macroeconomics, microeconomics, money theory, and Indian economics.
His primary research interests are micro, small, and medium enterprise, rural labor, and artisans. He stays committed to understanding the effects of growth on rural industries and rural labor. Saurabh is especially enthusiastic in organising quizzes, workshops, and discussions.

Dr. Urgyen did his Ph.D. from Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies. He is currently working as Assistant Professor of Tibetan History and Culture in the Department of Social Science Faculty of Adhunika Vidya. His teaching areas are Tibetan History and History of Buddhism in Tibet and India. His research Interest is in the area of the Patron 1990 में जोड़ा गया। Priest relationship between Gaden Phodrang Government and Qing Dynasty (1728-1912).

Dr. Mehar Singh Negi joined CIHTS (2000 batch) for higher studies and received his Acharya degree in 2009 followed by M. Phil degree in 2011. He is UGC NET qualified and has accomplished Doctorate degree in 2020. Since 2011 he has been engaged in teaching Buddhist Philosophy in Sampradaya Shastra Department as a Guest Faculty. He has served as Kargyud Committee President in 2015, 2018 and 2021 and completed restoration work of the text ‘Abhisamayalankarvrittih Pindhartha’.

Dr. Amit Mishra is a Senior Assistant Professor in Political Science and Head of the Department of Social Science at the CIHTS. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. from Delhi University. His doctoral thesis is entitled, “United Nations Peace keeping in the Post cold war period: Peace keeping to Peace building”. He authored a book entitled, United Nations Peace keeping: Dimensions in the post cold war era and Emerging challenges in 2015, published by YS Books International Publishers, Delhi, second book a monograph on “Social Democracy in Latin America: Achievements and Challenges” published by Lambert Academic Publishing group, Dusseldorf, Germany in December’ 2017 and third book is entitled Governance of Disaster Management: Lessons From India also by Lambert Academic Publishing group published in Dec. 2021.
Dr. Mishra has travelled widely and presented papers at Frankfurt, Rome, Addis Ababa, Lisbon and leading institutions in India like J.N.U., Delhi University, BHU, IDSA etc. He has several research publications on international issues in referred, peer reviewed international and national journals in India and abroad.

Dr. Prashant Kumar Maurya has completed M.A. in Economics from Banaras Hindu University and D.Phil. from University of Allahabad. He has been working as Assistant Professor in Economics at Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies since October, 2013. His areas of interest are Micro Economics, Health Economics and Buddhist Economics. He has published many articles in national and international journals. He is member of different Academic bodies.

Dr. Dorjee Damdul did his graduation from Tibetan Medical & Astro Institute (1988, Men-tsee-Khang, Dharamsala) and served in the Pharmaceutical Department of TMAI. Since 1996, he has been working in various advisory and academic capacities at CIHTS, strengthening and furthering the vision of the Sowa-Rigpa Department. With over 30 years of academic and organizational experience he has authored many books, presented numerous papers at seminars and workshops and presently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Sowa Rigpa & Bhot Jyotish and Shilpa Vidhya.

Ven. Geshe Namdak Tsukphus has completed his Ph.D. in Bon philosophy from Menri Monastery, Kotlapanjola Oachgat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. He is currently member of the 15th Tibetan Parliament in Exile and Guest lecturer of Bon Sampradaya and Mool Shastra in CIHTS. Additionally, he holds various positions in Tibetan social and cultural institutions.

Geshe Tharkey holds Karampa (B.A.), Lopon (M.A.) and Lharampa degree which is equivalent to Doctorate in Buddhist Philosophy from Sera Je Monastery in the year 2004, 2006 and 2009 respectively and teaches in Mool Shastra, Faculty of Hetu and Adhyatma Vidya. His teaching area involves tenets of the four Indian Buddhist Philosophical Schools: Madhyamaka, Yogacara, Sautrantika and Vaibhashika; consisting the subjects of Buddhist Pramana, Madhyamika, Paramita and Buddhist Ethics.
His research interest includes major works of Nalanda masters and Buddist Tantara. He has deep knowledge in the works of Jetsong Khapa and Jetsun Choekyi Gyaltsen.

Lopon Tsultrim Gyurmey holds Prajnaparamita Shastra (B.A.) and Lopon (M.A.) degree respectively form Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, Bylakuppe, Karnataka and teaches in Mool Shastra, Faculty of Hetu and Adhyatma Vidya. His dynamic teaching includes the major works of Indian Buddhist seers of the yore like Nagarjuna, Aryadeva, Asanga, Vasubandhu, Chandrakirti, Dignaga, and Dharmakirti. His research interests focuses in the field of Madhyamaka, Paramana and Abhidharma.
Geshe Lobsang Wangdrak is an Assistant Professor in Indian Buddhist Philosophy, Department of Mool Shastra, Faculty of Hetu and Adhyatma Vidya. He holds a Degree of Geshe Lharampa (Equivalent to Doctorate in Philosophy) from Sera Jey Monastic Institute, South India. He received a degree of Ngagrampa, Doctrine in Buddhist Tantra, from Gyumed Tantric University, South India.
His teaching area involves tenets of the four Indian Buddhist Philosophical Schools: Madhyamaka, Yogacara, Sautrantika and Vaibhashika; consisting of the subjects of Pramāṇa, Abhidharma, Abhisamayālaṅkārālokā, Madhyamakavatara, Twenty verses by Vasubandhu, Thirty verses of Vasubandhu, Mūlamadhyamakakārikā, Tattvasangraha, Madhyamak’alangk’ara, Bodhisattvacaryavatara and Roots verses of the Middle Way. He has participated as speaker in national and international seminars, and has written and published several standard articles. He has served two years as a Warden, and Education Councillor of Dialectical sessions and as member of several committees.

Geshe Tenzin Norbu is an Assistant Professor in Buddhist Philosophy, Head of the Department of Mool-Shastra. He is also a visiting scholar at the University of California Irvine and Tibetan Initiative U.S.A. He holds a Geshe Lharampa degree (Equivalent to Ph.D.) from Gaden Shartse Monastic Institute and Geshe Ngagrampa Degree (Buddhist Tantric Education) from Gyuto Tantric Monastery. His teaching and research focuses on the Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Science & Buddhist Religion based on the instructions and precepts of Buddha and five major collections of the Buddhist commentarial tradition such as Buddhist Logic and Epistemology, Mahayan Buddhist Studies of Six Perfections, Middle way Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Psychology and Phenomenology. Besides teaching and research, Geshe Tenzin Norbu has organized several national seminars. He has also performed the duties of Warden, Education Councillor of Dialectical sessions and he is member of several committees.

Geshe Tenzin Dhemeyhas received Geshe Lharampa degree (equivalent to Ph.D.) from Gelugpa University, Karnataka. He joined the Drepung Losel Ling Monastic Collage in 1997 and since then rigorously studied five major Buddhist sciences, viz., Pramana, Pragyaparamita, Madhyamika, Vinaya and Abhidharma. During the six years of Gelug great examination in Gelugpa University; he secured first position for five consecutive years. He studied Buddhist Psychology, epistemology, Buddhist ethics and logic for twenty-four years and has earned traditional Karampa (B.A.) and Lopon (M.A.) degrees with first grade. Later on, he joined Gyumed Tantric University to study four classes of Tantras, specializing in Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara and Vajrabhairava. He further studied Buddhist tantric practices and methods for meditating on Nadi, Vayu & Bindu and earned Geshe Ngagrampa degree (highest degree in Tantra philosophy) with first position in the final examination. Additionally, he has studied modern science for four years at Drepung Losel Ling Meditation and Science Center. In 2021 he has shouldered the responsibility of Geshe Lethokat Drepung Losel Ling Monastic Collage, that is to supervise quality assurance in imparting knowledge in the monastic environment.
At present, he is teaching Buddhist philosophy at CIHTS, Varanasi in Department of Sampradaya Shastra, Faculty of Hetu and Adhayatma Vidya. He has keen research interest in analysing Madhyamaka philosophical system and illusory body and intermediate state of dream phenomenology propounded in Guhyasamaja Tantra. Keeping up with the current trends in pedagogy, he is devoted himself in bringing about dynamic change in imparting knowledge in classroom settings.

Dr. Tenzin Nyima (Vidya Kumar)has received his Ph.D. and M.Phil. degrees from Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, and his doctoral thesis is entitled, “Critical Analysis on Relation of Body and Mind from Buddhist Perspective”. He has studied Buddhist Psychology, Buddhist Epistemology, Pramana and Prajñāpāramitā at Drepung Losel Ling Monastic Collage, Karnataka for 8 years and then he joined CIHTS in 2006 and earned the titles of Shastri (B.A) and Acharya (M.A). Currently, he is engaged in teaching Buddhist Philosophy at his alma mater, in Department of Sampradaya Shastra, Faculty of Hetu and Adhayatma Vidya. Taking into account the current trends in the contemporary education and changes in socio-cultural environment he combines traditional wisdom with modern educational pedagogy to impart knowledge in the class.
He constantly invests himself in research areas that are primarily centred around exploration of dynamics of mind, meditation, spiritual awakening and philanthropic mindfulness through the progressive approach of the ancient Indian wisdom. He has knowledge of Hindi, Tibetan, English, Sanskrit and Pali languages which enabled him to translate selected Sutras, crucial articles and hymns of prayers. Furthermore, he has been interpreting teachings/lectures of eminent scholars on various occasions across India. He has published several research articles on Buddhist studies and Himalayan-culture in reputed national journals. Apart from his academic responsibilities, he is a member of several committees in the Institute and has coordinated workshops, seminars and symposiums. In the meantime, he has participated and presented papers in the national and international seminars.

Dr. Ngawang Tenphel joined Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in 1995 and received Acharya degree in 2004. Subsequently, he continued his studies at Sera Mey Monastary and received Geshe degree in 2008. In the meantime, Dr. Ngawang Tenphel served as a guest faculty at CIHTS. His Ph.D. on “The Concept of Atman and Anatman in the Philosophies of Ancient Indian Non-Buddhist Schools and School of Buddhism” was awarded in 2013 from CIHTS.
In 2014, Dr. Tenphel was appointed as Asst. Professor in Gelug Sampradaya at CIHTS. He was elected as President of 46. Gelugpa Students’ Welfare Committee (GSWC) in 2015 and again from 2019 to 2021. He also served as president of Alumni Association of CIHTS from 2021 to 2022. He is GSWC in-charge too. He has also played a pivotal role in organizing scores of conferences, national and international seminars in the institute itself.
Currently, he is the students’ dean along with supervising Ph.D. scholars. Besides, Dr. Ngawang Tenphel has published some books and articles in various journals and websites.

He teaches in Geluk Samparadaya Department, Faculty of Hetu and Adhyatma Vidya. His teaching areas are Madhyamakavatara and Paramita. His research interest focuses on the critical works on Madhyamaka and Pramana. He has great experience in analytical writings in both Sutra and Tantras.

Dr. Tashi Samphel received Acharya degree in 1983 from CIHTS. In 1989 he obtained Ph.D. degree from Sampuranand Sanskrit University, Varanasi. He was awarded Research Fellowship by UGC for his Ph.D. He has served in the Rare Buddhist Texts Research Unit, CIHTS as a Research Assistant from 1989 to 1996. He worked as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Kagyud Sampradaya Shastra before getting promoted to Associate Professor in 2008. He was nominated as a member of Academic Council for two terms. He has worked as Director on deputation at Songtsen Library, Center for Tibetan and Himalayan Studies from 2008 to 2011, Dehardun (Affiliated with Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, Tehri Garwal, Uttarakhand). He received The Global Mahasaddhammajotika Award presented by Younker Historical Research Foundation, Meerut (U.P.) that was sponsored by Ministry of Culture, Government of India in 2019.

Kenpo Sanga Tenzin holds B.A., M.A. and Khenpo (Ph.D) degree in Buddhist Philosophy in the year 2001, 2004 and 2011 respectively form Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, Bylakuppe, Karnataka and teaches in Samparadaya Shastra, Faculty of Hetu and Adhyatma Vidya. His teaching area involves around the works of Masters of Nyingma tradition in Tibetan Buddhist comprising with the major texts of Mādhyamika, Paramita, Pramana and Abhidharma. He has specialised in Tibetan Literature, History and in both sutra and tantra fields. His research interest focuses on the critical works on Prajñāpāramitā and Mādhyamika. He has been papers on Mādhyamika and Uttra tantara. He also poses vast knowledge on the study of Himalayan and Tibetan history.

Kenpo Ogyan Jampa holds B.A., M.A. and Khenpo (Ph.D) degree in Buddhist Philosophy in the year 2007, 2010 and 2018 respectively form Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, Bylakuppe, Karnataka and teaches in Samparadaya Shastra, Faculty of Hetu and Adhyatma Vidya. His teaching area involves around the works of Masters of Nyingma tradition in Tibetan Buddhist comprising with the major texts of Madhyamaka, Paramita, Pramana and Abhidharma.
He bears the wide knowledge of terminology of Buddhist Schools as he has widely contributed in Monlam Grand Tibetan Dictionary containing 223 volumes(https://monlamdic.com) for which he co-authored as representative of Scholars of Nyingma tradition for over seven years. Khenpo Ogyen Jampa envisions special interest in Paraman in general and specially to the proponent of Equal Number of Subjects and Objects in the view of Sautrantika and higher tenets, number of cognitions in terms of all four tenets and in Buddhist tantara as well.

Khenpo Palzang Dargye holds Prajnaparamita Shastra (B.A.), Lopon (M.A.) and Khenpo in the year 2009, 2012 and 2018 respectively from Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, Bylakuppe, Karnataka. His teaching area involves around the works of Masters of Nyingma tradition in Tibetan Buddhist comprising with the major texts of Madhyamaka, Paramita, Pramana and Abhidharma. And he speaks Tibetan, English, Hindi and Nepali.
He had published his dissertation ‘The First Tibetan Work on Logic and Epistemology’ focussing on Tibetan King Trisong’s work on Logic. His research interests focus on the major works of Pramana and Madhyamak. Khenpo Palzang has been applying Modren Research Methodologies including Philology and crical edition in his classes in which he bears commendable knowledge and work experience as well.

Khenpo Ngawang Zodpa joined Ngorpa Centre in Uttarakhand for the Buddhist monastic ritual education in the year of 1981. Having graduated from there, Khenpo Ngawang Zodpa joined Dzongsar Institute in Himachal Pradesh in 1988 and studied the Buddhist philosophy under the guidance of the late great master Khechen Kunga Wangchug. On instance of his master, he joined Sakya College in Uttarakhand in 1992 for further knowledge of Buddhism, and studied both Sutra and Tantra under the futuristic guidance of the late great master Khenchen Migmar Tsering until the graduation. Taking his comprehensive comprehension of the Buddhist philosophy, he was first appointed as an assistant teacher at the Sakya College, and later as a teacher for his great services. In 2004, he was transferred to Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies for Sakya Sampradaya Shastra teaching, for his great knowledge of the Buddhist philosophy and contribution to it. Along with conducting the classes, Khenpo Ngawang Zodpa not only gives teachings on Buddhism as per the CIHTS’s will, but also has composed many critical articles on Buddha Dharma, and has translated the four Buddhist canonical scriptures into the English literatures from the Tibetan so far. In 2011, Khenpo Ngawang Zodpa visited Russia for imparting Buddhist teachings and conducting Tibetan literature officially as per the order of CIHTS, Sarnath Varanasi.

Khenpo Dakpa Senge has received traditional Acharya (M.A) Degree from Sakya College, Dehradun. He was conferred Khenpo title (Ph.D.) by His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin (Head of the Order). He is currently working as Associate Professor in the Sakya Sampradaya, Faculty of Hetu Avam Adhyatma Vidya Department of Sampradaya. His teaching area involves Buddhist philosophy, Buddhist ethics and social harmony.
His key interest is centered on Buddhist and non-Buddhist philosophy, researching on Buddhist scriptures and daily practice, critical editing, searching for sources of references from Tibetan traditional scriptures Kagyur/Tengyur/Sungbum of different Tibetan editions.
Apart from his regular duties, he composes research text and articles, guiding to the Ph.D. students. He also attends and delivers talks in many International and National Seminars, Workshops, Symposium and Conferences in the campus and other states.

At present Acharya Dechen Wangmo is the Assisting Teacher of Sakya Sampradaya at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS) Sarnath, Varanasi – 221007 ( India).This position primarily focuses on articulating and teaching Essential Buddhist Practices. Concentrating on the intellectual propensity of each individual student, Acharya Dechen Wangmo is proving most skillful in nurturing that propensity into fruition.
After receiving Shastri (B.A), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)together with Tibetan Honors, Post-Graduate (Acharya Degree)from CIHTS, Sarnath, her academic career reached a most significant turning point! Having received The Sacred Sakya Teachings Lamdre (Path with Results) from His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, Dechen Wangmo was catapulted into an ordained nun at the age of 26. Planning to return to her Ph.D. studies, a second significant turning point occurred as she was graciously offered the post of Principal at Sakya College for Nuns, Dehradun. Together with the administration of Sakya College for Nuns from 2009 – 2020,DechenWangmo successfully taught classical Tibetan language, both comprehension and composition. After many years of ground breaking administration and studies, a handful of Sakya nuns graduated with the recognition of their Acharya Degrees. A triumphant moment for the Sakya Nuns, her mission was accomplished! After 11 years, Dechen Wangmo has returned to CIHTS, Sarnath to pursue her Ph.D studies. Commencing in 2022, Dechen Wangmo was also given responsibility for the additional charge of Warden of the Girls hostel of CIHTS, Sarnath.
Once again in 2023, CIHTS has entrusted Acharya Dechen Wangmo with the responsibility of moulding some 160 female enthusiastic young minds, students who reside in the hostel, to not only they grow as individuals but to enhance the progressive reputation of CIHTS itself, highly relevant to the modern ever-changing world.

Profile: After traditional graduation, Prof. Chaturvedi obtained his Master and Ph.D.degree from B.H.U. He served as the Head of Sanskrit Department at C.I.H.T.S. from 2002 to 2020. Since 2017, he has been serving as Faculty Dean of Shabda Vidya, Department of Classical and Modern Languages. His teaching and research fields are – Panini grammar, Saraswat grammar and Katantra grammar. He has deep interest in Sanskrit poetry. He has composed many poems, edited, translated and published many books. He has presented and directed many dramas in the institution. He has organized conferences, Sanskrit debate competitions, and Sanskrit workshops. He has presented many Sanskrit poems in Sanskrit poet’s conferences and many research papers in conferences organized by various universities. He has guided Ph.D. scholar and M.Phil. student. Currently He is a member of many committees. He has been editing Annual Report since 2016-17 to till now. He has published many research articles in journals.
Jasmeet Gill holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University and teaches English in the Dept. of Classical and Modern Languages, Faculty of Shabda Vidya. His teaching responsibilities function around a dynamic coursework constituted of English Poetry, Modernist Fiction, Indian Writing in English, and Literary theory.
His research interests focus on the exploration of issues related to problematics of defining and practicing World Literature; navigating through the epiphanies of Literary Modernism and relationship with Art forms; and Latin American writing. Dr Mahesh Sharma, Assistant Professor of English, has been teaching at UG and PG levels in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages in CIHTS since 2018. He received an M.Phil. from the University of Rajasthan in the area of Rasa Theory and Indian Aesthetics. He earned PhD. from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, from the Department of Indian and World Literatures with a specialization in Postcolonial Theory and Literature. He has published various short stories in Hindi and English as a creative writer, bringing him multiple awards. He teaches Tibetan Literature in English, Indian Knowledge Systems, Indian Aesthetics, English Fiction and Literary theory and criticism at the University.
He has guided more than 20 MA dissertations on various eclectic subjects. He has published many seminal research articles in the area of post colonialism, cosmopolitanism, literary theory, criticism, and sorry literature. He has designed and anchored various MOOC programs for EMMRC, EFLU, Hyderabad. He has also completed the prestigious PGCTE and PGDTE certificate and diploma programmes from EFLU, Hyderabad. As an experienced teacher-trainer, he has trained many teachers in the North-Eastern region of India during various FDPs. Besides teaching and research, he holds multiple strategic positions at the University, including IQAC and Research and Development Cell. He also runs various extension activities for the students, including CIHTS English and Documentary Club. His current book project Narrating Memory: Nostalgia and Trauma in Francophone Novels explores the identity politics of various postcolonial communities like Harki, pieds-noirs, rapatriés, and appelés in the broad spectrum of traumatic memories.

Profile: Dr. Animesh Prakash (Ph.D., BHU, 2013) has been working as an Assistant Professor in Pāli at the CIHTS, Sarnath since September 2018. Previously, he was serving as an Assistant Professor in Pāli at K. J. Somaiya Centre for Buddhist Studies, Mumbai (A recognised centre of the University of Mumbai). His research focuses on “the application of Vipassanā meditation in Psycho-therapy.” He has been trained in Classical Tibetan language at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute, Kathmandu University and at the University of Hong-Kong, HK. Currently, he is working on the Transmission of Theravāda discourses in Tibetan Canon.

Profile: Ven. Dr. Dawa Sherpa completed his Ph.D. in 2019 from CIHTS. He has been teaching Sanskrit as a Guest Faculty in Sowa-Rigpa Department since 2014. His main interest is Buddhism in general and Tibetan-Sanskrit-Pali Buddhism in particular. He belongs to the Nyingmapa school of Tibetan Buddhism and his interest also covers Tantra in Nyingmapa School, Tibetan, Sanskrit, Pali language and literature. He is involved in doing research on Buddhist scriptures and translating Buddhist texts from Sanskrit to Tibetan, Pali to Tibetan and restoring Buddhist texts from Tibetan to Sanskrit. Furthermore, his research includes comparative studies of Indian Philosophy. Currently he is translating and editing Ayurvedic Texts in Tibetan with Prof. Lobsang Tenzin, Sowa Rigpa Department. He is also independently translating Pali-Suttas into Tibetan.

Profile: Dr. Anirban Dash, Associate Professor of Sanskrit, has been teaching at the UG and PG levels in the Faculty of Shabda Vidya, CIHTS since 2018. Dr. Dash has received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Sanskrit and Prakrit languages, University of Pune, Maharashtra. As an expert of Indic Manuscriptology and Paleography, he has taught ancient Indic scripts at more than 80 Universities and Institutes across India and abroad. He has been a visiting faculty in the Indology section, Department of Asian Studies, Institute for Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies, University of Copenhagen (Denmark); Otani University (Japan) and Heidelberg University (Germany).
Currently, he oversees and curates a team of researchers in India who are creating a searchable electronic database from microfilms & photocopies of ancient manuscripts for Muktabodha Indological Research Institute (USA). He has authored four books and more than 30 articles in his area of specialization and his current book project is – A Buddhist Sanskrit Manual. His responsibilities also include a Coordinator, IQAC – CIHTS, Sarnath.
Currently, he is the Director of National Mission for Manuscripts, New Delhi on deputation.

Profile: Lobsang Choedak is pursuing Ph.D. at CIHTS and has been teaching Tibetan language & literature in the department of Tibetan language & literature, Faculty of Shabda Vidya since 2018 as a Guest Faculty. He is currently doing research on the topic “An Analysis and Tibetan Translation of the Fifth Chapter ‘Rasa Vivecana’ of the Sarasvatī Kaṇṭhābharaṇa along with the Usages of Rasas in the Jātakamālā of Ăryaśūra”. His research interest includes Sanskrit Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Sanskrit language and literature, Tibetan language and literature. He is a prolific writer in Tibetan.
Dr. Shuchita Sharma holds Ph.D. in Fine Arts from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi and she teaches Art History in the Department of Shilp Vidya (Fine Arts) in CIHTS. Her teaching activities cover a wide range and dynamics of world Art History from prehistoric to contemporary period particularly focused on Indian, Himalayan, Tibetan , Central Asian and East Asian and European visual arts. She is a passionate fieldworker, explorer and a hobby photographer. Dr. Sharma has intensively explored far flung regions of Ladakh, Zanskar, Spiti, Kinnaur and inner valleys of Sutlej and Beas Rivers in Western Himalayas regarding her research interest. She paints landscapes and she has received credit of many group and solo shows. She was grown up inHimachal Pradesh at Solan. She persuaded her high schooleducation from CST Dholanji. It’s is now known as STS Sambhota.In the year of 2011, She joined at CIHTS for her higher educationand did her graduation in Buddhist philosophy in 2018. Duringher collage life, she was actively participated in the manyworkshops or seminars in the CIHT. She also hold the bachelordegree in Library and Information Science from IGNOU.Currently she is working in the department of Sowa Rigpa as adispenser.

Profile: Pema Tenzin completed his Acharya (M.A.) from CIHTS, Sarnath and thereafter did a 3 years Rigorous Training Course (M.Phil.) in Sanskrit from CIHTS. Subsequently, he was appointed as a Research Assistant in Research. He did his Ph.D. on Restoration of Nagarjuna’s Letter to a Friend into Sanskrit from Tibetan with its commentary by Acharya Mahamati from Sampurnananda Sanskrit University, Varanasi and got it published later as a book from CIHTS. He was initially appointed as Research Assistant in September 1985 and has been working on regular post since March 1987. He has, since then restored, edited and translated many books on Buddhist Philosophy and published them from CIHTS. At present, he is Professor and Head of the Translation Department in Research.
Professor Pema Tenzin has received two awards, namely Vividha Puraskara in 1988 & 1994 respectively in recognition for his two books from Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Academy, Lucknow in the early stage of his service. He has participated and attended more than 50 National/International Seminars with and without paper presentations, has attended and participated in over 50 workshops and has published more than 40 articles in various journals.

Profile: Geshe Lobsang Gyatso is from Drepung Gomang Monastic University Mundgod where he completed Geshe degree, after studing Vinaya, Abhidharma, Madhyamika, Prajnaparamita and epistemology.In addition, he has been a science leadership Fellow (2008-13) from Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (Center for Tibetan Studies), and was awarded certificate on completion for a five-year curriculum in Mathematics, Biology, Neuroscience and Physics from Emory University in U.S.A.
He is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Buddhist Philosophy and Teaches Science, Math and Tibetan Grammar etc. through Dialectics at Centre for Teacher Education, Faculty of Shabda Vidya.
His research interest is centered on how to teach science, Math, Tibetan grammar through dialectics. Geshe Lobsang also writes on teaching Science, Math and Tibetan Grammar through Dialectics and Epistemology. Geshe Lobsang Gyatso has special interest in organizing workshops on teaching various subjects through dialectics besides reading books

Profile: Dr. Tsewang Sangmo holds a BSMS/Internship from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS), Varanasi and currently working as R&D Assistant cum Herbarium In charge under the Department of Sowa-Rigpa with other additional activities i.e. consultant, assisting in therapy wing, annual report preparation of OPD, Yuthok Teaching Hospital etc.
Her present research focuses on conserving Minerals and Herbs samples collected from Trans- Himalayan regions of India during students’ medical excursions organized by Department of Sowa-Rigpa, CIHTS. In addition, she is engaged with filling up the voucher specimen both in Tibetan and English language. Her future projects mainly focus on DNA finger printing of plant samples, conserving their genes for potential propagation in times of rarity and extinction and GPS coordinated collection of specimens from different location to maintain standards for each collection in collaboration with botanist and microbiologist. In future, she is also interested to do MD course in the field of MateriaMedica.
