Alternative Energy Resources

The campus boasts of its distinctive features and best practices which are deeply rooted in the tenets of Buddhism. A large framework of solar panel, a fully functional sewage treatment plant, the underground water harvesting system, and the in house vermi-compost pits add the edge of extra functionality to the campus enabling it to be autonomous. A large RO plant caters to the need of everybody.

The land upon which the campus was built was originally a mango grove. During the construction process, as many of these trees as possible were saved. Over the course of time, many other varieties of trees, flowers, herbs, have been introduced and a separate dedicated herbal garden has been especially designed for the students of Sowa-Rigpa. In winters, the campus offers a blooming festival of more than sixty types of flowers. The Institute has taken a number of significant steps to reduce waste, preserve resources, and generate environmental awareness.
