Introduction:

This Department is one of the Departments under Yuthog Sowa-Rigpa Medical College and Hospital created with the mandate of the NCISM and provision given in MSE & MSR 2022 Gazette notification, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. The main purpose of this Department is to study and research on the field of Sowa-Rigpa Materia Medica, Pharmacology & Pharmaceutics

Programme offer:

This Department offers U.G., P.G., Ph.D. Diploma and certificate course on the Sowa-Rigpa Materia Medica, Pharmacology & Pharmaceutics.

Programme Outcome:

This Department is created to fulfill the following outcomes.
  • Capable to conduct P.G. and Ph.D in Sowa-Rigpa Materia Medica, Pharmacology & Pharmaceutics after the graduation of U.G. program.
  • Create more Professors, Pharmacologists, learned scholars and experts, Pharmacists and Health workers in the field of Sowa-Rigpa Materia Medica, Pharmacology & Pharmaceutics.
  • Be able to do sound research on Sowa-Rigpa Materia Medica, Pharmacology & Pharmaceutics.
  • Be able to serve, preserve, promote and transmit unique cultural heritage to the younger generations.

Course Outcome:

Some of the course outcomes after the completion of the course:
  • Enables the students to have a sound knowledge of Sowa-Rigpa Materia Medica, Pharmacology & Pharmaceutics.
  • Be able to guide and teach intensive knowledge of the origin, its growth and different manifestations of Sowa-Rigpa to the freshers.
  • Upon completion of the course, have acquired a clear understanding of the background to the origin of Sowa-Rigpa Materia Medica, Pharmacology & Pharmaceutics.
  • Will acquire basic knowledge of Sowa-Rigpa related subjects, Bhot-Jyotish, Tibetan language and literature for further studies and research.
