As a source of alternative energy, a 150 KW solar system was installed on the roof of Padmasambhava Boys’ Hostel spanning over 984 sq. metres area of the hostel roof. The plant generates approximately 500 KW every day and has produced approximately 85 MW of clean energy till date. The plant has saved approximately 68 tonnes of CO2 emission on the campus. Because of this solar plant, the Institute has saved more than 7.20 lakhs in electricity bill till today.
