Profile: Dr. Jampa Chophel has completed Ph.D. from CIHTS. He teaches Tibetan Astroscience, Tibetan language and literature. His research interest focuses on Tibetan astronomical calculation and its components’ description. He specializes in comparing ancient and modern astronomical calculation in addition to translating modern and ancient astronomi text into Tibetan languages, converting all the astronomical calculation into software, teaching modules of astronomical into animation form, develop the astronomical detail more precisely through analyzing on planetary speed and other factors and Buddhist description of astronomical features in terms of meditational practice into mathematical perspective.

Profile:  Dr. Umashankar Sharma has obtained the degrees of Acharya (M.A.) and Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.) in Astrology from Banaras Hindu University. Presently, he is working as Guest faculty in Department of Bhot Jyotish, Faculty of Sowa Rigpa, CIHTS since 2019. His field of teaching is ancient Indian mathematics, mathematical astrology, Vastu Shastra and ancient astronomy. Apart from this, he contributed to curriculum structure. His research interest focuses on the method of Indian Panchang. He has published many research articles in Hindi and Sanskrit in reputed national and international reputed journals.
