Associate Professor

Dr. Dorjee Damdul did his graduation from Tibetan Medical & Astro Institute (1988, Men-tsee-Khang, Dharamsala) and served in the Pharmaceutical Department of TMAI. Since 1996, he has been working in various advisory and academic capacities at CIHTS, strengthening and furthering the vision of the Sowa-Rigpa Department. With over 30 years of academic and organizational experience he has authored many books, presented numerous papers at seminars and workshops and presently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Sowa Rigpa & Bhot Jyotish and Shilpa Vidhya.

SHUCHITA SHARMA

Dr. Shuchita Sharma

Assistant Professor of Art History

Dr. Shuchita Sharma holds Ph.D. in Fine Arts from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi and she teaches Art History in the Department of Shilp Vidya (Fine Arts) in CIHTS. Her teaching activities cover a wide range and dynamics of world Art History from prehistoric to contemporary period particularly focused on Indian, Himalayan, Tibetan , Central Asian and East Asian  and European visual arts. She is a passionate fieldworker, explorer and a hobby photographer. Dr. Sharma has intensively explored far flung regions of Ladakh, Zanskar, Spiti, Kinnaur and inner valleys of Sutlej and Beas Rivers in Western Himalayas regarding her research interest. She paints landscapes and she has received credit of many group and solo shows. She also delivers lessons on Indian and Western Aesthetics as foundation of art teaching and she has published a book and many articles.

KUNGA NYINGPO

Kunga Nyingpo holds M.Phil degree from CIHTS. He is appointed as a lecturer in the faculty of Fine Arts in the Institute in 2015. He teaches Tibetan, Indian and western art history and aesthetics. He has done a training course on conservation of the cultural property, organized by the National Research laboratory for the conservation of cultural Property,(NRLC)Lucknow. He has participated in various seminars, conferences, and exhibitions. He was awarded Gold medal in the Master of Fine Art (MFA) 2014-2015 from CIHTS. He was elected as the 27་་ Yungdrung Bon Students’ Committee (YBSC) President.

Lobsang Sherab did his Mphil from CIHTS Sarnath Varanasi. He is currently working as GuestFaculty in department of Fineart, Shilpa Vidya. He is teaching Tibetan traditional Thangkapainting and contemporary art.He is participated in various programs like group exhibition, workshop, national andinternational conference, seminar etc. Apart from this he has delicately organize variousdepartment educational tour and giving Thangka workshop in various Indian institution.
