Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies is a renowned campus for the studies of Buddhism, Tibetan culture, literature and language, Himalayan studies, medical science, teacher education etc. it has a diverse international community and welcomes talented students from around the world. CIHTS has MoUs with various international universities, vis – à – vis every year more than 50 students stay on campus to study various facets of Buddhism in the month of December – January

We have a history of more tha n 50 years of exceptional academics, research, restoration, translation, and allied projects. Consequently, t oday more than 4 5 % of our students are from outside India , representing around 10 countries. It’s a great place to be a student so wherever you’re from, you’ll quickly start to make friends and feel at home. The teaching fraternity is dynamic, living conditions are appealing and the place has its historical and religious importance.
