Assistant Professor
Dorjee Kyab completed his Ph.D. in Buddhist Philosophy at CIHTS, Sarnath, Varanasi, in 2023.He started working at CIHTS as a Research Assistant in the Department of Tibetan Literatureon June 1, 2017. His research interests include Tibetan language and literature, Sanskritlanguage and literature, Tibetan and Sanskrit grammatical theories, linguistics, orientalphilosophy, occidental philosophy, and Tibetan and Sanskrit poetics and dramas. He alsoteaches Tibetan language and literature at both PG and UG levels at CIHTS from time to time.He participates in scholarly discussions on Tibetan literature and the theory and practice oftranslation on both national and international levels. His publications include his bookQuadrilingual Edition of the Cloud Messenger(co-authored, 2019), andThe New TibetanTranslation of TheMeghadūtaṁof Kālidāsa:with an exhaustive introduction, new Tibetantranslation, critical edition of the Sanskrit text, a bilingual glossary, restoration of the SanskritMS of the Old Tibetan version, and appendices.
