Vermicompost Pits
To maintain the greenery on the campus, the Institute has autonomous supply of different types of manures. There are six huge pits for the development of vermi-compost on the campus. Each pit is 17×5 inches wide covering 1060 sq. feet of the Institute. The process of vermicomposting has enhanced the growth of the plants, successfully suppressed various diseases and increased microbial activity in the soil. It benefits the environment by reducing the need for chemical fertilizers, improves the water retention and ameliorates the overall environment conditions on the campus. A skilled team of gardeners collect the huge amount of waste like dead leaves, weed plants and utilize it with vermicompost.
