DR. LOBSANG DORJEE
(RABLING)
Dr. Lobsang Dorjee did his Ph.D. from CIHTS and traditional Geshe degree from Drepung Gomang Monastery. He is currently working as Associate Professor in the Restoration Department. His research area involves restoring lost Buddhist and Indian literature from Tibetan to Sanskrit. He also translates works of ancient Indian and Tibetan masters into Sanskrit, English and Hindi. He has made a significant contribution to restoration and translation research work and has been awarded from Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit (Academy), Lucknow and once from Samyak Prakashan, Delhi, 2019.
His key interest is centered on Buddhist and non-Buddhist philosophy, researching on Buddhist scriptures and daily practice, preparing documents for publication, critical editing, searching for reference sources from Kagyur/Tangyur/Sungbum of different Tibetan editions.
Apart from his regular duty he composes research texts and articles and guides Ph.D. research students. He has conducted and attended many International and National Seminars, Workshops, Symposiums and Conferences in the campus and other states. He visited several Indian states and abroad for a survey of Buddhist manuscripts. He is actively involved in many social work activities.
