Dr. Huma Kayoom

Dr. Huma Kayoom is an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University where she earned her B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education. She is currently working as Assistant Professor of Education at Centre for Teacher Education, Faculty of Shabda Vidya in CIHTS. Her areas of teaching include Pedagogy of Science, Gender, School and Society, Environmental Education, and Contemporary issues in Education.

Her research interest is centered on Minority issues and Sociological context of Education. A Constructivist, both in theory and practice, Dr. Kayoom also writes on various social and gender based issues published with web-based online magazine Women’s Web.

Keeping up with the trends in the contemporary education, she focuses in bringing novelty in her teaching by adopting a healthy blend of Realism, Existentialism and Pragmatism. She tends to provide ample space to students to explore their interest and creativity by organizing various learning activities.
