CONVOCATION
Since the inception of CIHTS, the Institute has proudly organized fifteen convocations in which the Honoris Causa awards, Vachaspati degree and other degrees are awarded. The convocation of CIHTS is deeply rooted in the Indo-Tibetan ancient tradition. Renowned luminaries such as His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, was given the special Vachaspati degree in 1990. The list of the other notable figures proudly includes Shri P. V. Narsimha Rao, Dr. Raja Ramanna, Dr. G. Ram Reddy, Acharya Tulsi Maharaj, Dr. S. D. Sharma, K. Sachidanada Murti, Prof. G. C. Pandey, Dr. Karan Singh, Dr. Kapila Vatsyayana, Prof. Ravindra Kumar, Prof. D. P. Chatapadhyaya, Prof. U. R. Ananthamurthy, Gaden Tri Rinpoche Losang Nyima, Prof. Murali Manohar Joshi, Justice J. S. Verma, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Shrimati Meira Kumar, Prof. Robert Thurman, and Shrimati Jetsun Pema and Ven. Thik Nhat Hanh etc.
