The Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies conducts an annual open entrance examination every year. Centre for Teacher Education, one of the programmes of the Institute, also conducts the entrance exam for the Tibetan diasporas. The burgeoning need for well trained teachers among different Himalayan regions is provided by the Institute. The programme strictly follows the rules and guidelines of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Future teachers in the making:
The Institute provides admission for two programmes: four year Integrated B.A.B.Ed./Shastri Shiksha Shastri and B.Ed./Shiksha Shastri. The entrance examination is conducted by the Institute in Varanasi along with other centres catering to the Himalayan people, such as, Nepal, Himachal Pradesh, North-east region, Ladakh and various other cities of Karnataka.
