NOTICE BOARD  

Centre for Teacher Education (CTE) at CIHTS has initiated and started innovative four-year integrated B.A.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed. and Two-year B.Ed. courses since 2014-15 academic session. Initially CTE was run by Department of Education, Dharmasala. Both the courses are duly approved and sanctioned by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)-Apex body of Controlling and Monitoring teacher education in India.

As of now, CTE is running innovative 4-year integrated B.A.B.Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. and two-year B.Ed. courses with “Tibetan language and literature” as compulsory subject in each semester. “Tibetan Language & literature” paper helps to develop the competence in Tibetan language, and at the same time preserve and carry forward the great cultural heritage of Tibetan people & the people living in the Himalayan region. Another compulsory paper known as “Fundamentals of Buddhist Logic, Psychology and Cognitive Sciences” (Dialectic), which deal with the Tibetan methodology of Teaching-Learning, helps the learner acquire the necessary skills to teach the subject through logic and concept mapping. This paper is also an important component in each semester of entire programme duration.

Besides the regular discipline of studies as prescribed by the apex body of Teacher Education-NCTE, the essential components of Buddhist philosophy, emotional intelligence, ethics, yoga, meditation, inclusive education and gender equality are also incorporated in the curriculum recognizing their special importance.

Under the School of Education, CTE had organized many programmes such as 30 days Faculty Induction Programme, National Conference, National Workshops, resource talks, guest lectures etc. in the academic session 2018-19 and 2019-2020 for the capacity building, knowledge enhancement and emerging Pedagogical practices for Teachers, Teacher educators, researchers, student-teacher the administrative staff and policy makers of Education system.

All pass out student-teachers had been well absorbed by the Tibetan Education System / Indian Education System. Some of the students have joined the master programme in different universities. Under SoE project, CTE has progressed towards its own separate 4-story building which is fully operational and functional.
