Assistant Professor of Tibetan Language and Literature
Profile: Dr. Lhakpa Tsering holds a Ph D. from Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies and he teaches Tibetan Language and Literature in the Department of Tibetan Language and Literature, Faculty of Shabada Vidya of CIHTS. His teaching areas cover adverse range of subject including Tibetan Language grammar, Linguistics, Tibetan – Sanskrit Poetics and Tibetan literature.
Teaching Assistant
Profile: Lobsang Choedak is pursuing Ph.D. at CIHTS and has been teaching Tibetan language & literature in the department of Tibetan language & literature, Faculty of Shabda Vidya since 2018 as a Guest Faculty. His teaching responsibilities are Tibetan Grammar, Lexicography, Phonetics, Tibetan Poetry, folklore, drama, fiction, World Literature in Tibetan, Sanskrit rasa theory in Tibetan and practical Tibetan poetry writing etc.
He is currently doing research on the topic “An Analysis and Tibetan Translation of the Fifth Chapter ‘Rasa Vivecana’ of the Sarasvatī Kaṇṭhābharaṇa along with the Usages of Rasas in the Jātakamālā of Ăryaśūra”. His research interest includes Sanskrit Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Sanskrit language and literature, Tibetan language and literature. He is a prolific writer in Tibetan.
Assistant Professor of Art History
Jampa Lhundup did Acharya degree and M.Phil in Tibetan Language and Literature from
the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies. Currently, he is pursuing Ph.D. from the same institute, focusing on the “Linguistic Analysis of the History, Evolution and Relationship Between Tibetan and Himalayan Languages.” He teaches in the department of Tibetan Language & Literature, Faculty of Shabda Vidya, specialing in Tibetan Grammar, Linguistics and Tibetan Literature.
He exhibits a keen interest in linguistics, literature and doing translation work in Tibetan, Hindi and English.
He has published numerous articles and translations in various Journals, Websites and New Papers. Additionally, he has authored and translated two books in Tibetan.
